Fantastic!

“We thoroughly enjoyed this informative and fun tour. The ride out to the plantation provided the background knowledge needed to really appreciate the history of Middleton. The house tour guide was fabulous and the lunch was exceptional! The grounds are breathtaking- even saw a gator in the river. It really takes you back to where you feel the presence of those who walked and lived on the grounds. A must when you visit and worth every penny.”

A Must Visit While in Charleston

My wife and I just completed a 7-day visit to Charleston, during which we visited two plantations. Middleton and Magnolia. They both had their unique beauty, but if we had to choose only one it would probably be Middleton. In addition to the history associated with this plantation and the impressive geometrical gardens, the food in the restaurant alone was worth the trip. Their fried chicken is the best I’ve ever had anywhere……..including in Charleston’s downtown with many restaurants famous for their fried chicken. The plantation itself is beautiful and there are volunteers walking around who are anxious to share additional information about the place’s history. It is a trip worth taking, and the tour we took included transportation from the Visitor’s center in an air-conditioned van with a city-certified tour guide driver who also provided us with fascinating stories about what we going to see. Glad we took this tour!
